1986 - JOHN WAITE SOLO - SOUNDTRACKS & FELLOWS
„If Anybody Had A Heart“, an easy-beat pop song -- properly to the 80´s -- has
been written for the soundtrack to the equally
easy movie About Last
Night with Demi Moore and
Rob Lowe.
„If Anybody Had A Heart“ gains #76 in June 1986 in the US Charts and is going to be released on „Essential“ later on.
„I just done three nights at the Marquee in London and I got
a phone call from the 'About Last Night' people and they wanted me to sing that song. They had Don Henley
(Photo below) involved
and I´d always been curious about Don Henley and fancied working with him. So me and the roadie jumped
on a plane from
London and took an earlier flight directly to LA. Nobody showed up. We were first in the studio, then they all sort of
rolled in about 6 o´clock at night, stayed for an hour and then went home! So I had really bad jetlag and couldn´t
sleep for a couple of days. I was bit of a wreck when the session started. But Don Henley was there so it was okay.“
In the same year on September 10th, there appears the unusual result of a co-operation with a
Japanese band that´s
rather unknown around here, Casiopea.
„Something´s Wrong - Change It!“, which appears on their 14th
album „Sun Sun“ (photo below) is a rhythmical, easy to dance pop song with powerful,
dynamic brass as well as dynamic background vocals, that go well together with John´s feelingly lead vocals.
The contrast is splendidly effective.
